Bata Italy has announced the launch of a new mobile app for its customers. With the "Bata Fashion App", Bata Italy is offering its local customers an innovative and fun way to browse, discover and find a Bata store on a mobile device. The app is available at www.mobilebata.com. -

Bata Shoes now available online in five new countries
Bata has launched a new bata.eu online presence. The goal of this new website is to provide customers of Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, a place to purchase Bata Shoes as well as providing Bata a platform to reach customers in markets where Bata currently has no physical store presence. -

Thomas Lieuvin nominated Winner of the 6th Young Designer Award Contest
A jury of footwear and fashion professionals has nominated Thomas Lieuvin, recent graduate in footwear stylism of the Atelier Chardon Savard (Paris), winner of the 6th edition of the “concours Bata des jeunes créateurs”, Bata's contest for young shoe designers and aspiring designers. He will see his collection on sale in selected Bata stores as well as www.bata.fr starting Spring-Summer 2012. -

Election of the winner of the 6th Young Designer award contest
Bata France is currently electing the winner of the 6th edition of the “concours des jeunes créateurs”, a contest for young shoe designers and aspiring designers. The winner will have the opportunity to create, produce and promote a collection of up to to five women shoes to be commercialized in summer 2012. -

Delivering smiles to Orphans in Zambia
The orphaned children of the community school of Bwafano in the outskirts of Lusaka (Zambia) had never seen such shoes before as some of them were barefoot or with severely torn shoes. The Bata Children’s Program (BCP) donated 650 pairs of Toughees’ school shoes to children orphaned by AIDS. A number of BCP volunteers were present at the school for the donation ceremony. The community together with the children welcomed Bata with dances and songs including a touching song entitled “Thank you Bata because what you do is visible”.

Bata entering the Rwandan market
The Bata Shoe Company (K) Ltd. has signed an agreement with the Mugo Group to enter the Rwanda Market. The resulting group will be operating under the name of MESGO – Kigali. Bata, is set to open two more stores in Rwanda by the end of the year following the opening of the first franchise store in Kigali.

Bata India sharing expansion plans with The Economic Times Journal
Bata India is all set to revive itself to be once again the favorite footwear brand for all ages. The company plans to introduce almost four designs every day, open 70 to 100 stores each spreading in an area of 5,000 sq. ft every year and market its online sales as well. The company is also considering franchise route to such huge expansion pan India.

Usain Bolt at Athletes World in Rome, Italy
Athletes World shop in Rome, “Via del Corso”, had the honor to welcome three-time World and Olympic gold medalist and world record breaker in the 100 metres, the 200 metres Usain Bolt. The event, organized by Athletes World in collaboration with Puma, gave customers a unique opportunity to meet the reigning World and Olympic champion in a prestigious location such as Rome.
